Each of our sensors is highly customizable with numerous pressure ranges, fittings, electrical connections, and wetted materials available for selection. The Whitman name was built on our pressure products over 45 years ago, and we pride ourselves on the quality and diversity of our offering. Contact our engineering team to discuss your custom project today and Whitman solutions we can design to meet your exact needs.
Pressure Switches
Whitman controls offers the most diverse selection of pressure switches in the industry. Our diverse line of switches are used across a wide range of applications including blowers, generator sets, off-road vehicles, compressors, wafer ovens, process equipment, flow control devices, pumps, wastewater, heating and cooling systems, and numerous other applications across industries. Our competitive advantage lies in our ability to custom engineer switch and sensor solutions that meet the exact needs of your application and media. Whitman has been working with large OEMs for over 40 years, and our longest running customers are those we have custom designed switch solutions for since our early years.
We offer low pressure units (up to 1,000 psig) and higher pressure units with proof pressures up to 6,000 psig and burst pressures up to 9,000 psig. These units come with a range of sensor elements, and are available with NEMA 4 and IP67 protection. Our adjustable pressure switches are field adjustable, allowing the end user the ability to adjust the set point of the switch in the field. Alternatively, our factory-set pressure switches are set by our professional staff at the factory to your exact pressure set point needs, and are not adjustable.
Compound Pressure Switches
Compound Pressure Vacuum switches allow the end user to control an applications where positive and negative pressures exist. Two of our most reliable pressure switches can also be custom designed as compound pressure switches including both the P88 and P100. These units afford the end user a wide range of pressure and vacuum set points, and can be used across numerous media and applications. Much like all our products, these compound switches are field adjustable or factory-set, and come with a vast array of pressure and electrical connections.
Differential Pressure Switches
Differential Pressure switches measure the pressure differences between two points in an application and actuate when an end user pre-set actuation point is hit. Our snap action differential pressure switches are NEMA 4 rated and can withstand pressure spikes up to 9,000 psig. These devices have user set points from 0 to 250 PSI Differential and are capable of carrying light to moderate mechanical shock and vibratory loads.
The P88G Economical Pressure switches are typically used in applications where reliable switch control supersedes accuracy of set point. Controlling on and off functions for fans and pumps where one may need a wide differential to prevent over-cycling is an ideal application use for the P88G.
The P90 Severe Environment Pressure switches are built to operate in harsh conditions and are typically used in vehicle applications both off road and on. As these switches are NEMA 6 rated, they are weather proof and briefly submersible. Ideal use is on log skidders, tractors, handi-vans, cranes and numerous other applications where shock, vibration and weather are of primary concern.
The P95 Severe Environment Pressure switches are built to operate in harsh conditions and are typically used in vehicle applications both off road and on. As these switches are NEMA 6 rated, they are weather proof and briefly submersible. Resiliency in high pressure conditions is the key differentiator relative to its P90 sister switch, with the ability to withstand hydraulic spikes to 4,000 psig.
The P100G High Accuracy Low Pressure Environment Pressure switches are ideal in light pressure applications where precision of setpoint must be high and repeatability low. These switches are commonly used in natural gas well heads, natural gas generator sets, and air applications like forced draft blowers. The P100G can be used both in dry indoor applications or within an enclosure.
The P117G Stainless Steel Miniature Pressure switches are sharp, highly versatile devices that can be used in hundreds of OEM and routine mechanical applications. It is among our most popular switches given its durability and diverse set point options. There are numerous fitting and electrical connectors available featuring TB, TS, Military and DIN Connectors.
The P117LG NEMA 4 Stainless Steel Pressure Switches are the weather-proof, liquid-resistant version of the P117G. The NEMA 4 rating makes these rugged switches suitable for outside applications or in areas of condensing humidity. Unlike the P117G, the P117LG set point is factory set to customer specification and is non-adjustable.
The W117G Ultra Pure Stainless Steel Pressure Switches have all welded stainless steel interiors which are Helium leak checked to pass 4 x 10-9 Std CC/Sec. These switches are used in silicon wafer ovens, numerous medical devices and other applications where even the slightest impurities are not tolerated.
The W117LG NEMA 4 Ultra Pure Stainless Steel Pressure Switches have all welded stainless steel interiors which are Helium leak checked to pass 4 x 10-9 Std cc/sec. These are the NEMA 4 rated weather-proof, liquid-resistant version of the W117G, suitable for out¬side applications or in areas of condensing humidity.
The P119G Zinc Diecast Body Pressure Switches are the inexpensive version of the P117G and recommended for indoor OEM use. The compact nature of these switches make them ideal for tight spaces.
The J205G High Pressure Low Set Point Pressure Switches are among our most versatile offering, affording the end user an extensive operating environment and a wide range of set point optionality.
The J205LG NEMA 4 High Pressure Low Set Point Pressure Switches are among our most versatile offering, affording the end user an extensive operating environment and a wide range of set point optionality. These switches are theNEMA 4 rated weather-proof, liquid-resistant version of the J205G, suitable for outside applications or in areas of condensing humidity.
The P605 Pressure Switches are a line of severe application controls that can withstand massive pressure spikes from hydraulic systems. These switches can see pressure spikes to 9,000 psig without comprising switch integrity or functionality. They also afford the end user higher set points to complement more severe environments and low set point repeatability.
