Q. How do I determine the best switch for my application?

A. The Switch Selection Guides will provide all necessary information to find a switch best suited for your application but feel free to reach out to our engineering department at [email protected] for assistance in selecting your switch. We will custom match a switch for your particular application from our wide range of offerings. If you would like to submit a quote to our sales team you can use our Customer Specification Forms to provide all your application's information and then submit it to [email protected]


Q. Can we buy direct, or must we go through a distributor?

A. We can accommodate orders by either method. 


Q. How do I find out if there is a local sales representative in my area?

A. Contact us for a referal to a local sales representative.


Q. What is the minimum order size?

A. We will accommodate orders as small as one piece, or enough to meet your JIT requirements.


Q. How do I open a new account?

A. Supply us with three trade references and one bank reference. Upon credit approval, we will ship to your open account, net 30, FOB Bristol, CT. We can also ship C.O.D.


Q. Do you accept payment by Credit Card?

A. Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.


Q. What types of switches do you manufacture?

A. We manufacture vacuum, pressure, liquid level and temperature switches.

 


Q. What is your lead time?

A. Normal lead time is 2 weeks or less after receipt of order for custom assembled switches. Generic adjustable switches are available overnight if placed prior to 1pm EST.


Q. Can I get my order any quicker than the normal lead time?

A. Yes, through our Next-In-Line program. If there is space available in our production schedule, an order can be inserted into an expedited slot for a $50 fee.


Q. What is the Whitman Controls warranty policy?

A. We offer a 3 year/one million cycle limited warranty. Complete details of this warranty are available from us.


Q. How do I wire my switch/How do I adjust it?

A. Please review the Set Point Adjustments & Wiring Instructions page.


Q. Do you have an absolute pressure switch?

A. Whitman no longer manufactures an absolute pressure switch, because we found that in the majority of cases, it is not necessary to the application. Please submit our Customer Specification Form (CSF) for our recommendation.


Q. If I need to return a switch, what do I do?

A. Contact the factory or [email protected]. A technical advisor will help you solve your problem, or issue a Return Authorization Number (RMA) with return instructions.


Q. Do I need a specific reset point?

A. Whitman can provide a specific reset point, however most customers don't need one, and can enjoy a cost savings by not specifying one.


Q. Can I get a price sheet for your products?

A. Most of our products are custom assembled with options for your particular application. The final configuration determines the pricing and quantity discounts available.Therefore, we are unable to issue a price list. Please consult the factory for pricing.
